Wuzzuf, an Egyptian online recruitment platform, has acquired job assessment platform, Viriphi for an undisclosed amount.
“This acquisition is a part of a larger plan to launch new products for enhancing the recruitment experience for job seekers and job owners in the region. Our aim is to contribute to one million hires by 2020,” said Ameer Sherif, cofounder and CEO of Wuzzuf’s parent company, Basharsoft. Merging with Viriphi would allow Wuzzuf to continue innovating and providing better services, he added.
Launched in 2014, Cairo-based Viriphi develops and delivers assessment solutions to help young professionals stand out in Egypt’s crowded job market.
This assessment measures skills such as English speaking and writing, problem solving, analytical and communication, and others that employers look out for.
Based on the assessment scores, employers can identify candidates with high-potential for hiring – this process saves them time, effort and cost.
Thousands of job seekers have taken Viriphi Assessment, as more employers continue to rely on Viriphi to hire more efficiently. OLX, Careem, Merck, Travco Group, Alcatel Lucent and others continue to rely on Viriphi for recruitment.
The acquisition will see Viriphi merged with Wuzzuf, allowing Wuzzuf provide better services and change the face of talent recruitment in the country and beyond.
“[This merger with Wuzzuf] will change the nature of hiring in Egypt. Employers will now be more efficient in hiring the right people for the job, and qualified job seekers will now be found thanks to the Viriphi assessment,” said Amr ElGabry, founder and CEO of Viriphi
