Huawei launches three Y-Series devices into Kenya, might be the last of their kind

Earlier today, Huawei was crowned as the second biggest smartphone company worldwide in terms of sales volume. In a bid to strengthen that position and probably go even higher, the company launched 3 entry level devices. Unfortunately, this might be the company’s last effort towards low end devices as stated by Richard Yu, chief of Huawei’s consumer division.

In an interview that was quoted by Bloomberg, Yu said that ““We are giving up the very low-end devices because the margin in this is extremely low, and it’s not making enough profit for us.” It seems the company will focus on the GR series, the P series and the Mate series. The latter is poised to release its new entrant, the Mate 10, on October this year.
