Huawei is set to join the edge-to-edge full screen display club, and why not, they are already among the top two largest smartphone manufacturers in the world. There have been rumors that the Mate 10 device would be the first one to bring this feature to their portfolio, but until today, we had not seen how it would actually look like.
Thanks to this new leak, we have a first glimpse at the new display and it looks amazing, I might add. Unfortunately there were rumors that the new display would be reserved for a higher end Pro version of the Mate 10. If history is to be repeated, some Huawei markets will not have the Pro version for sale since that was the case last year’s Mate 9. It would be unfortunate for Huawei, if this turns out to be the case, other competitors such as Samsung and LG have made the edge-to-edge display to be standard on all their flagship phones and available in all their markets. We only have to wait until October 16th for the phone launch to see how things unfold.
For those who are curious about the rest of the device specs, we have a 6.3 inch IPS display with 1440*2960 resolution, it will be powered by the company’s latest chipset, Kirin 970, with a whopping 6GB RAM, a dual camera touting 12MP+20MP with one of them being a monochrome sensor and tuning done by Leica. Finally as usually with the Mate Series, a huge battery will be in tow, leaks peg it at 4000mAh. With such a specifications list, the phone will be a true powerhouse, it will be interesting to see how it fairs against rivals
