Huawei is planning to get into the full screen display arena with the high end Mate 10 series. Notice how I called it a series, that because rumor has it that the company will launch three versions of that device, a pro, a lite and a regular variant. Today, we have leaked information about the Pro and the regular version.
Evleaks -the master leak-star with an impeccable record – tweeted a live photo (above) of the Mate 10. It has the full screen display with small top and bottom bezels, they are calling it EntireView display. Huawei is the first manufacturer that has been able to use a full screen display and still manage to have a fingerprint reader on the bottom bezel. The screen also comes with a 2.5D glass.
Another photo was leaked bearing the front panels of the Mate 10 and the Pro version. As you can see, there are both of almost equal height but the Pro has a screen that covers most of the front panel hence managing to have a narrower size. Both are said to have 18:9 aspect ratio and 5.9 inches size. However, the Pro has 90% body to screen ratio , that is , the screen covers 90% of the front surface of the phone. The pro goes further to have a curved panel around the side bezels the same way as the Samsung Galaxy S8. This setup migrates the fingerprint reader to the back of the device.
Both phones will pack the upcoming Kirin 970 which will have a neural processing unit to compute artificial intelligence activities such as Face unlocking like the new iPhone X. They will also share a huge 4200mAh battery which will definitely guarantee great battery life. The memory and storage options will differ from one price range to another as follows.
Huawei Mate 10
- 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage for $650
- 6 GB + 128 GB for $744
- 6 GB + 256 GB for $850
