Whatsapp now labeling forwarded messages

Popular messaging platform Whatsapp has added a new feature. Earlier today Whatsapp indicated that it would be labelling forwarded messages. The move has been orchestrated in a bid to curb online hoaxes.

Whatsapp says that the feature will also help users make one-on-one and group chats easier to follow, as well as determine if your friend or relative wrote the message they sent or if it originally came from someone else.

To see this new ‘forwarded’ label, you need to have the latest supported version of WhatsApp on your phone.

Whatsapp strongly encourages its users to think before sharing messages that were forwarded and also reminds them that they are at liberty to report spam or block a contact in one tap, and that if all fails, they can always reach out to WhatsApp directly for help.
