Nokia 9.2 PureView With Snapdragon 865 Chipset May Launch Late 2020

Nokia 9.2 Pureview is the company’s 2020 flagship. The device will be launched much later in the year probably in the last quarter of the year.

The release delay is pegged on HMD Global’s plans for using Qualcomm’s latest chipset. The company is looking to power the 9.2 PureView with Snapdragon 865 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 855 or 855+ chipset.

HMD Global resurrected Nokia brand in 2017 with the launch of affordable smartphones with stock Android OS. Since then, the brand has been consequently launching mid-range and flagship smartphones.

It seems that the Finland-based HMD Global is trying to increase its offerings in the market. From the look of things, the company seems focused on the entry-level segment rather than the premium smartphone category to grab a bigger market share. It remains to be seen how this strategy works for the company.

From the latest reports, the company all set to unveil its next flagship smartphone — the Nokia 9.2 PureView, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor.

The device is the successor to the Nokia 9 PureView. This phone will most likely have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC, which means it will be a 5G smartphone since this SoC is being bundled with the X55 5G modem only.

The focus for this phone will most likely be its cameras. The Nokia 9.2 PureView could pick up from where the Nokia 9 PureView left off. It will feature an upgraded Penta-camera setup at the back.
