Huawei Mobile Kenya has today officially released its HUAWEI Y7p, the first smartphone without Google Mobile Services under its HUAWEI Y Series.

Running Huawei’s EMUI9.1, a customized version of Android 9, the phone has a Kirin 710F with an integrated octa-core processor. It’s RAM stands at 4GB and a storage of 64GB which can be expanded to 512GB with a micro SD card (sold separately).

With a large 4000mAh (typical value) battery and Huawei’s AI power saving technology, the smartphone offers a reliable long battery life, ideal for those that are always on the go.

Huawei Y7p has a 48MP AI Triple Camera, has a 6.39 inch FHD+ HUAWEI Punch FullView display and a resolution of 1560 x 720 with a small punch hole for its front-facing camera.

Powered by Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), which include a range of essential smartphone features including the Huawei AppGallery, an app marketplace from which users can easily download apps, the HUAWEI Y7p is the first of Huawei’s models without Google Mobile Services such as Gmail, Maps, App Store, Chrome among others.

The Dual SIM smartphone will be retailing in select stores across the country including Jumia at RRP Kshs 18,499.

Embedded underneath the Punch FullView display is a powerful 8MP front camera that supports Huawei’s camera AI algorithms. The front camera supports HDR Mode for stunning selfies in high dynamic range and the AI Scene Recognition which enable it to recognize up to eight scenes including blue sky, plants, night scene and more, optimizing the settings required for the perfect shot.

It’s rear AI triple-camera has a 48MP main camera with an f/1.8 wide-aperture lens, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera supporting 120-degree field of view for scenic landscape shots, and a 2MP depth assist camera for simulating realistic shallow depth-of-field effects.

The smartphone comes in classic Midnight Black and unique Aurora Blue colours. The Aurora Blue variant uses blue and green gradients to create a distinguishable and fashionable look.

Built for gamers, the GPU Turbo 3.0 feature on the HUAWEI Y7p boosts performance by enhancing graphics for a more immersive gaming experience.
