The iGaming industry is a market worth billions of dollars. The industry has been on a high rise globally for many years now, but it has not fully reached its potential in many regions. There are always new opportunities and development to be found in the sector. To improve the iGaming industry around the world, SIGMA Group, a leading event, and media company has taken it upon itself to take a step towards finding ways to foster and enhance high-growth in the gambling industry. Towards this end, SIGMA Group is now offering an event calendar in four continents, placing the group in the international gaming sector’s center. With SIGMA EUROPE, SIGMA ASIA, SIGMA AMERICAS, and SIGMA AFRICA, they have essentially taken a step towards revolutionizing the gambling industry around the world.

SIGMA Africa

Africa’s rapid increase in the development of infrastructures has opened the continent up to the world of online gaming. With internet access becoming a regular thing, the continent is connected like never before, creating more opportunities and avenues for the rise of online gaming. One of such online gaming that Africans are now open to is the iGaming industry. Since gambling has always been popular in the African market, it is not surprising that the rise of online gambling has reached Africa’s shores. Africa is now seen as a ripe untapped market for the iGaming industry. This is why the SIGMA group is organizing an event in Africa to foster its iGaming industry.

SIGMA Africa will bring the industry’s leading minds together to discuss regulations, economic development, and create new opportunities for businesses to invest in the continent’s gambling sector. Africa has always relied a lot on foreign direct investments from other parts of the world. SIGMA Africa will undoubtedly open up doors for the influx of investment opportunities into Africa’s gambling Industry.

SIGMA has a record of attracting audiences from more than 80 countries. This shows that the group can set a prestigious and international guest list filled with an array of the best operators, software developers, affiliate marketers, regulators, and other pioneers in the igaming sector. This will bring innovation to the continent’s gambling sector, driving development throughout its countries.

Since the geographical and linguistic distinctions of different countries in Africa reflect on the gambling landscape, SIGMA decided to organize the event in three host cities. The SIGMA Africa summit will move across the various host cities every year. In 2022, the inaugural summit will take place in Cape Town, South Africa. The next summit will be held in Ghana by 2023, and in 2024 SIGMA Africa will then take place in Kenya. SIGMA will essentially bring the south (South Africa), the west (Ghana), and the east (Kenya) regions of the African continent together in this unprecedented cross-cultural event.

Online Casinos Moving to the Digital Map

Africa has become one of the leading regions for growth in the iGaming industry globally. Some experts will even go as far as to say Africa is the next big thing in gaming. They say this because, in recent years, Africa has experienced an astonishing growth rate.

Due to the popularity of sports on the continent, there is often a common misconception that Sportsbetting is the only driving force behind this growth. Other gambling games contribute to this growth, including online casinos. Gambling at Land-based casinos has always been popular in Africa, so it is no surprise that Africans are taking to online casinos to play their favorite games online. Online casinos make playing games more convenient and comfortable for African players since they can play from the comfort of their homes or anywhere.

The restriction imposed by gambling laws of many countries in the continent that outrightly bans online gambling has been a major concern of casino operators for many years now. However, many countries are now changing their gambling laws, allowing for new online casinos that accept African players to operate.

One of the SIGMA Africa summit’s main focuses is shoring up support for the online casino business in Africa. Less than 20 percent of African jurisdiction currently explicitly allows or regulates online gambling. So, high on SIGMA Africa’s agenda is regulatory debates to support future regulatory development.

With many similar past events like ICE Africa by Clarion Gaming, BiG Africa Supershow by Eventus International, and many other events taking place often, Africa is well on its way to becoming one of the most lucrative markets in the iGaming sector.

With events like SIGMA Africa bringing in investors, future regulatory developments, the surge in mobile payment options, and ease of access of online casinos, African online casinos will soon find their place on the digital map.
