Startupbootcamp AfriTech Accelerator Opens for Applications from Africa’s Most Disruptive Startups

Telecel Group, in association with Startupbootcamp AfriTech has opened applications for the ASIP Accelerator Program in search for the next generation of early-stage African tech startups disrupting a wide range of industry sectors are actively being sought.

Out of the 29 startups that completed the first Startupbootcamp AfriTech program, ten startups will be selected to participate in the 3-month programme with expert-led masterclasses, tailored mentorship, hands-on support and valuable introductions to industry stakeholders, venture capitalists, and angel investors from around the world.

Successful applicants will also receive €15,000 in cash, and over €500,000 in partner deals from leading technology providers such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, HubSpot, and SendGrid, amongst others.

The completely virtual, Pan-African Programme kicks off in July 2021. with applications remaining until 14 May.

Backed by Telecel Group, the program is ideal for startups with a mobile tech focus in FinTech, InsureTech, AgriTech, IoT & Connectivity, Digital Health, and RegTech and is partnering with Startupbootcamp AfriTech to run the Africa Startup Initiative Program which was launched by Telecel Group as part of CSR activities.

Corporates who join as Founding Partners will be given access to the most disruptive startups on the African continent. Corporate Partners will also be part of the selection committee which determines the final 10 startups that participate in the 3-month ASIP Accelerator Program and help bring startup innovation into their organizations.

During the Covid pandemic, SBC launched Accelerator Squared as a fully online platform that enables startups to access the complete library of content, group workshops, 1:1 mentoring, collaborative sessions with Entrepreneurs in Residence, and invite-only discussion forums with founders from around the globe. The remote accelerator concludes with an online Demo Day where startup founders pitch their disruptive solutions to a broad audience of media, investors, corporate partners, and industry stakeholders.

The ten selected startups in the program will receive benefits valued at more than €500,000, including credits from AWS, Google Cloud Services, and many more. SBC also invests €15,000 in cash.
