Have you been trying to activate call waiting function on Airtel?

I’ve had a number of people complain about my line every time they call me because I forgot to enable the call waiting function. Since I have a double sim phone I forgot to activate the necessary setting on my Airtel line and instead blamed the network for being incompetent (sorry Airtel) fast forward and here we are, I now know that it was my lack of knowledge and not the network. Read the tips below to see how you can activate the function.

How to activate Call Waiting on Airtel

Method 1:

  1. Open Settings app on your phone.
  2. Tap on phone menu.
  3. Select call waiting.
  4. Enable call waiting.

Method 2:

  1. Open the dialer app on your phone
  2. Press *43#, then OK.
  3. Call waiting will be activated.

Call waiting will allow you get a caller notification while you are on another line. You can choose between picking up the call and totally ignoring it. Here is how you can do so;
To end the current call, press 1 then yes to pick up the incoming call. Or just click on the end option.
To put the current caller on hold, press 2 then send.
Press 2, then Send to alternate between the two calls.
Press 0, then send to ignore the second call or completely ignore with no action.

How to Deactivate Call waiting on Your Phone

Call waiting comes with its benefits which are alluring but it is nerve racking at times when the second caller keeps calling time and again even when they are aware that you are on phone with someone else. The steps below will help guide you on how to deactivate call waiting.

Method 1

  1. Open the dialer app on your phone.
  2. Press #43#, then ok to deactivate call waiting.

Method 2:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone.
  2. Tap on the phone menu.
  3. Select call waiting.
  4. Disable call waiting.
