With the most recent software update, Apple has added two new Siri voices. Apple also no longer sets Siri’s voice to be female by default. The new features are included in iOS 14.5, which is now available to iPhone users worldwide. This update also includes changes to Apple’s ad tracking, the ability to unlock the iPhone while wearing a face mask, and other features.

iPhone users worldwide can now download and install the latest iOS 14.5 update. You can do this by going to the Settings menu and selecting ‘Software update’ from the ‘General’ section. You’ll find the option to download and install iOS 14.5 on your iPhone here.

Once your iPhone has been updated to iOS 14.5, follow these steps to change Siri’s voice. It’s also worth noting that once the software update is installed, Apple will prompt you to select a default voice for Siri.

  • Navigate to the Settings menu and select ‘Siri & Search.’
  • Scroll down and click on ‘Siri Voice.’
  • Choose ‘American’ from the list of available languages.
  • Then select one of the four available voices.

According to Apple, “these new Siri voices use Neural Text to Speech technology for an incredibly natural sound.” Along with new voices, Siri has been updated to support Group FaceTime calls. Siri can also notify you of incoming calls via AirPods or compatible Beats headphones, as well as emergency contacts.
