Antonio Garcia Martnez a former Product Manager at Facebook, in April was hired at Apple to work in the Advertising business, has been forced to leave the company shortly after employees file a petition questioning his hiring.
The former employee of Facebook is also a New York Times best selling author and tech entrepreneur. He joined Apple in April as a product engineer in Apples advertising business.
On Wednesday, over 2000 employees signed a petition demanding investigation into how his published views on women and people of color were ignored or missed and whether the company had followed its rules in hiring him.
In his book Chaos Monkeys, he describes Women in the Bay area as soft and weak, cosseted and naïve despite their claims of worldliness generally full of shit. The remarks are directly opposed to the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and as well racist and misogynistic in nature.
Apple has confirmed that Mr. Antonio Garcia Martinez no longer works for the company and further explained that at Apple, they always strive to create an inclusive, welcoming workplace where everyone is respected and accepted. Behavior that demeans or discriminates against people for who they are has no place at the company.
Although Garcia Martinez was not available for comment, the company has confirmed he no longer works at Apple.
