Tays, an Egypt-based networking app, has raised a seven-figure (EGP) pre-seed investment from a group of angel investors to enable it get off the ground in Egypt and expand into new countries.
Tays is an end-to-end social networking app co-founded by Sherif Bacheet and Fady Yonathan that uses a unique machine learning algorithm to connect professionals based on mutual business interests.
Tays has raised a seven-figure pre-seed investment from various angel investors within the Egyptian startup ecosystem, allowing it to launch operations across Egypt and the MENA region after nearly a year of development.
The funding comes from a group of angel investors, some of whom have chosen to join Tays’ executive board. Google Ireland’s Business Development Manager, Remax Middle East’s CEO, O7 Therapy’s Founder and CEO, and El Ahly Capital’s Facility and Procurement Director are among the board members
“The ongoing pandemic has highlighted how difficult it is to create meaningful professional connections,” Bacheet said.
