Temperature, rain radar, forecast: Several times a day, we look at the weather forecast on our smartphone, especially in weather conditions such as this week. But which apps are the best and most reliable? We’ll tell you TechMoran’s favourite weather apps.
Most smartphones already have a corresponding weather app ex-works. But the applications of many third-party providers usually offer significantly more functions. Whether WetterOnline, the Warning Weather app of the Kenyan Weather Service or Overdrop, all apps provide additional features, such as widgets, weather radar, or storm warnings. We introduce you to your favourite weather. Stay in our guide to know.
Windy
When it comes to weather, the free Windy app is always my Go to App. The application provides detailed forecasts and data on wind, weather, temperature, waves and some other meteorological categories on a visually very appealing map.
Depending on the category, information such as wind direction and wind speeds with moving particles and colours are highlighted.
When you click on the map, the app then produces a detailed forecast for the desired location for you. In addition, webcams provide you with images that illustrate the weather situation of the last few hours from their point of view.
Overdrop
The app displays the weather with lovingly designed animations, and the user interface is kept in a pleasantly minimalist design.
But not only in terms of design, over drop can outstrip the competition. With three different weather forecast providers, some of which have hyperlocal announcements ready, as well as a whole series of various reports, you can quickly find out what the weather has in store for you tomorrow. Also, for all those who like to beautify their home screen a little, Overdrop offers good possibilities with the widgets.
Hello Weather
The app developers advertise that Hello Weather is not completely overloaded, confusing and filled with advertising compared to other apps.
If you open the Hello Weather app, you will only find two areas. On the one hand, the forecast, here you will find the current weather and an hourly and daily weather forecast. The second point is a live radar with which the weather development can be observed and estimated.
However, not all functions can be used for free here. To remove all restrictions, an in-app purchase must be made.
WetterOnline
you shouldn’t go crazy about what the app says about the weather in two weeks because the forecast changes too often over time. In the range of three days, however, WetterOnline has rarely disappointed. As a commuter, it is convenient to store different places to pack the bag accordingly for the business trip.
The app comes with various widgets for a quick overview, including a chic circular that makes the home screen a bit airier. For allergy sufferers, the app also displays up-to-date information on the pollen flight of various plant species.
YoWindow
the home screen proves to be a real eye-catcher with its animated interface. The animations adapt depending on the current weather situation as well as the day and season.
However, the application is not just for the eye: the forecast is based on national and foreign weather stations, radars and satellite images. Thus, the weather can also be tracked in different places. This not only allows precise predictions but also makes YoWindow a practical application when travelling.
YoWindow can only be used for a fee without restrictions.
