Infinity, Nissan luxury brand, is making wireless Apple CarPlay accessible to more clients as a free upgrade. Such upgrades are rare and if you own one of the applicable cars, you better take advantage of it before it runs out on March 31st, 2022.
The free upgrade is coming to most of the 2020 and 2021 models. The cars in question are the 2020 and 2021 Q50 sports sedan, Q60 sports coupe, QX60 mid-size crossover, and the QX80 full-size luxury SUV. At the moment, CarPlay is standard on new Infiniti models like the QX55 and the QX80, and it will be featured on the 2022 Q50, Q60 and QX60.
The upgrade will be applied for free at Infinity retailers in the United States, it’s not clear if other countries will get same treat.
To spice up the free upgrade , Apple introduced some new features to CarPlay in the new iOS 15 update, it includes CarKey feature which let’s you unlock your car using your phone. Other features include Driving Focus mode, and new wallpapers, among other items.
“Customer satisfaction has always been one of the highest priorities at Infiniti, and we are pleased to bring wireless Apple CarPlay to owners of the majority of our 2020 and 2021 vehicles, said Infiniti Americas group vice president Jeff Pope. “More than 80 percent of luxury vehicle owners use Apple products, and now these Infiniti owners can go wireless while using CarPlay in their vehicle.”
