Safaricom announced in a statement that it will be performing maintenance on its mobile money platform M-PESA tomorrow, Tuesday, October 19th. The scheduled maintenance will take place from 2359h to 0400h on Wednesday, October 20th.
At the specified time, all M-PESA services will be unavailable. This means that Kenyans should make the necessary preparations if they intend to conduct business during that time.
M-PESA has evolved into more than just a mobile money service for sending and receiving cash. It has strong business tools that are widely used by people to conduct local and international transactions.
M-PESA has a market share of more than 100 percent in Kenya’s mobile money space.
The mobile money platform has more than 30 million active local users, with 50 million users in African markets that use M-PESA.
