Google invited us to an event last night to learn more about the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, a new smartphone powered by Google Tensor. However, the press conference was also an occasion for the Manufacturer to talk about Android 12 and confirm that it will be available on earlier Pixels. Pixel 3 and after will receive the Android 12 upgrade today and will take advantage of all of the new features.

You can get Android 12 right now

Naturally, the more knowledgeable users will respond that Android 12 has been accessible via the dedicated AOSP branch for several weeks. However, the updated version of Android is now available via OTA, which is the simplest method. Here are the Pixel devices which will benefit from Android 12.

  • Pixel 3
  •  Pixel 3 XL
  •  Pixel 3a
  •  Pixel 4
  •  Pixel 4 XL
  •  Pixel 4a
  •  Pixel 4a 5G
  •  Pixel 5
  • Pixel 6
  • Pixel 6 Pro

These “old” devices, like the spanking new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which were just announced Yesterday, take benefit of all of the new features released with Android 12. They’ll start with Material You, the mobile operating system’s new visual identity. By the end of the year, Google has promised that more native apps will be ported to Material You. The goal is to bring everything together to standardize the look of Pixel smartphones’ home screens.
