That’s all there is to it, and we’re here a day after Google held its annual conference at 20 a.m. yesterday to unveil its new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. So, what’s the scoop on them? We’ll give you the details.

We’ve been talking about the respective smartphones here at Techmoran for months, thanks to numerous leaks that have appeared on the internet, but that is now in the past because there are no doubts about what we expected and what the two flagships will deliver.

The Pixel 6 smartphones

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are nothing like what Google has previously offered. This has been known for days, weeks, and even months during our long wait. The manufacturer thinks of the design on his mind and then showcases the techniques used with the two smartphones

The Pixel smartphone  takes an 8-megapixel front camera and a 6.4-inch FHD+ 90 Hz AMOLED display. Even though the slab is flat, it has fairly thick borders. The smartphone is IP68 certified, and the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus glass. The fingerprint sensor is also welcomed under the screen for the first time at Google.

The Pixel 6 distinguishes itself from the competition on the back instead. Google returns to its roots with a two-tone aesthetic, separating the colors with a “block” of cameras that spans the entire width of the phone. It’s pretty noticeable, and it has a fresh new 50-megapixel camera sensor (size 1/1.31″ vs. 1/2.55″ on the Pixel 5) as well as a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.

Another noteworthy innovation is Google’s return to the very top of the market. Let’s not forget that the Pixel 5’s SoC Snapdragon 765G was designed for the mid-range market. This year, however, the manufacturer has combined, for the first time, an SoC of its own to put the small dishes in the big ones.

The Google Tensor is a 5 nm chip with an 8-core CPU (2x 2.80 GHz; 2x 2.25 GHz; 4x 1.8 GHz) and a last-generation Mali G-78 GPU. The Pixel 6 will come with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a UFS 3.1 storage option of 128 or 256 GB. The smartphone has a 4,614 mAh battery that can be recharged with 30 W wired and 23 W wireless power.

The  Pixel 6 Pro smartphones

In this case we discover a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It’s worth noting that it’s an LTPO panel, which, like the iPhone 13 Pro, can reduce its frequency to as low as 10 Hz to conserve battery life. The borders are also thinner, which is understandable given that the smartphone is carved on both sides.

A periscopic telephoto lens of 48 megapixels (1/2.0) joins the duo of 50+12 megapixels already present in the Pixel 6 “; f/3.5 aperture. It has a 4x optical zoom and a Super Res Zoom feature that allows you to zoom in up to 20 times.

Finally, the XXL smartphone has a 5,000 mAh battery that can be recharged at 30 W in wired mode. Wireless charging stays at 23 W as well. Another point to consider: we have 12 GB of RAM here, compared to 8 GB in the classic model.
