How to Bring your WhatsApp chat history to your Android device.

Bring your WhatsApp chat history with you to Switching to a new phone can be a daunting experience, especially if you’re going from one operating system to another. We want to make this process as simple as possible, so with the recent Android 12 release, we added the ability to transfer all of your essentials by connecting your old iPhone to your new Android phone via a cable. With your permission, Android automatically matches and installs the same apps from Google Play, allowing you to easily bring your SMS and iMessage history, as well as photos, videos, contacts, calendars, and other data, with you.

But we can also do more. Certain types of data were previously impossible to transfer when switching from an iPhone to an Android device. Things like your WhatsApp chat history – those cherished memories, photos, voice messages, and conversations with friends and family – can be difficult to let go of, and we wanted to change that. As of today, you can safely transfer your chat history and memories from your iPhone WhatsApp account to your Android account. We collaborated closely with the WhatsApp team to develop a new set of features aimed at making it easier to switch from iPhone to Android and keep your WhatsApp history.

Simply connect and transfer your WhatsApp data.

All you need to get started is a USB-C to Lightning cable. Simply connect your phones and, when prompted while configuring your new Android device, scan a QR code on your iPhone to launch WhatsApp and transfer all of your conversations, media, and other data to your new device.

Your WhatsApp data is safely transferred between two phones.

Our team collaborated with WhatsApp to ensure that your data is secure throughout the transfer process, ensuring that no one else has access to your WhatsApp information and files. Your WhatsApp chat history will simply be copied from your iPhone to your new Android phone, and we will ensure that you do not receive new messages on the old device while the transfer is taking place.

This transfer capability is available on Samsung Galaxy devices and now on all Pixel phones, and it will be available on new smartphones that launch with Android 12, ensuring that you never lose what’s most important to you when switching. It’s never been a better time to make the switch to Android.
