Several brands have been disappointed when they hire certain influencers who have a healthy number of followers just to find that they can’t convert.

Wowzi is the Kenyan startup that is changing that by connecting both upcoming and celebrity influencers to advertisers and providing all the relevant insights needed. The new funding will help the company expand to other parts of Africa that are mainly driven by the internet.

How much have they raised?

The new company has secured a total of $3.2 million from investors which is currently the total amount as they had previously raised $1.2 million and now secured an additional $2 million seed round.

Which investors were involved?

Investors in the seed round were To.org, Golden Palm Investments, LoftyInc Capital, Afropreneur Angels, and Future Africa. “We are primarily focused on expanding across Africa in 2022 and in other emerging markets globally,” Wowzi co-founder and CEO, Brian Mogeni, told TechCrunch.

He said:

“We are also adding new product capabilities and features, as we continue to develop our technology and provide additional value to our communities,” he said.

A new age for digital marketing.

This will be a golden opportunity for the nano and micro-influencers who miss out on working with good brands. It will also lead to more leads and sales for businesses that are looking for conversions but are also looking to grow a loyal audience of people who will return.

Wowzi usually chooses influencers based on their engagement and look for people who are able to deliver quality content and have a committed audience.
