ZoomTanzania, a Roam-owned general classifieds marketplace site in Tanzania and close competitor Kupatana.com, operated by Frontier Digital Ventures have announced landmark merger that will see them work together as one brand, to consolidate their local market share and cut on their operational costs.

Under the new deal, EuroAfrica Digital Ventures will receive the exclusive rights to run the new operation for the two partners.

According to Makusaro Tesha, GM of EuroAfrica Digital Ventures, “This is an amazing opportunity for us, but particularly for Tanzanian internet users, since we will be able to further develop the already strong online marketplace presence and provide even more sales opportunities and a better user experience across all categories. From a technical standpoint, the new platform will be a new version that will combine the best of the two platforms, but also bring new and exciting features so that we can provide a safe, fast and user-friendly experience to buy and sell online.”

EuroAfrica Digital Ventures will market and operate the classifieds platforms Kupatana.com and Zoomtanzania.com and is going to continue developing its strong position in Tanzania and relaunch them as Kupatana.com, under one brand and website. Kupatana had a high brand awareness rate in Tanzania and will be kept as the brand name of the new outfit which will be launched in the new year.
