macOS Server has been with us for a very long time. It is a piece of software that lets you manage and configure numerous PCs and iOS devices from a single Mac. This one, aimed chiefly at professionals, was previously known as macOS X Server, then OS X Server, before being renamed macOS Server in 2016.
However, Apple has formalized the demise of the macOS Server in a document issued only a few days ago, after more than two decades of operation. macOS Server has lost favor with the release of macOS Monterey since several of its most popular have been relocated to the macOS operating system.
