Samsung has announced that by mid-November it will have pushed an OTA update to all its 5G smartphones in India.
Government officials including the Telecom secretary and the MeitY secretary held a meeting in India and decided that smartphone makers should push updates to enable the 5G services on devices that can work on standalone (SA) 5G networks.
The message from a spokesperson read that Samsung has the widest portfolio of 5G devices in the Asian country and the company is working “closely with operator partners” to enable Indian consumers to experience 5G seamlessly . Apple also confirmed a similar update is coming, and it will hit iPhones in December.
