Leica is releasing the Leitz Phone 2, a year after releasing the Leitz Phone 1. The new device borrows its features from the Sharp Aquos R7. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and a 5,000 mAh battery. It comes in a memory storage configuration of 12GB RAM and 512GB.
The exterior design is advanced with textured metal sides of Leitz branding and a metal cap for the rear camera. The display is made of a 6.6-inch IGZO OLED screen with 2730 x 1260 px resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate.
The front houses a 16MP selfie camera in a punch-hole cutout. The rear camera maintains a 47MP main camera with a 1” sized sensor. Alongside a seven-element Leica Summicron lens, and a 1.9MP portrait sensor.
It comes in color white and will go on sale in Japan from November 18, 2022 at JPY 225,360($1,540.)
