Elon Musk takes the new Tesla Cybertruck for a spin

Elon Musk recently took a joyride in what he calls a “production candidate” Tesla Cybertruck.

The Tesla CEO shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter) showing him all smiles behind the wheel of the near production ready electric pickup truck.

“Just drove the production candidate Cybertruck at Tesla Giga Texas!” Musk tweeted. After one of his followers commented that Musk’s smile behind the wheel says it all, Tesla’s head honcho replied, “I think this is our best product ever.”

Since it was originally presented on stage years ago, about 2 million people have placed pre-orders for the electric pickup truck. Despite several inquiries from followers, most of whom were interested in the commencement of deliveries, Musk did not give any new information regarding the Cybertruck.

Tesla said last month that it had built the first Cybertruck at Giga Texas, but later emphasized that the vehicle was a “production candidate” truck rather than one that was ready for consumer delivery.

On the Q1 2023 earnings call in April, Tesla’s CEO said that a Cybertruck handover event would take place near the “end of the third quarter,” which most likely means September 2023.
