One Plus has released a major OS update for the 8T which effectively takes it to the latest Android 14.
OxygenOS 14 includes an upgraded Trinity Engine for improved performance, a new Smart Charging system, new privacy features such as an extra layer of security when granting access to photos and videos for any app, a Smart Touch feature that allows you to select text, images, or videos and paste to the clipboard, a new Snapchat widget for the lock screen, and more.
There’s an interesting Carbon Footprint AOD feature that builds on the Homeland AOD that debuted last year, and it is designed to showcase the impact of carbon emissions you have on our planet. The goal of the feature is to help you cut down on your daily carbon emissions by walking instead of taking other forms of transport.
The open beta version of the Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 weights roughly 750MB. The stable update, on the other hand, will be distributed to non-beta testers. Remember that this is a substantial software upgrade, and if your phone is running OxygenOS 13, the download size will be roughly 3-4GB.
The update is currently in the process of being rolled out and will be available to everyone soon. You can also manually check for updates by going to Settings > System Updates
