iHub in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is empowering EdTech startups that are building products that enhance learning outcomes and accelerate access to equitable and quality education for Africa’s learners. This is through the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship, an entrepreneurship acceleration program designed to support promising African EdTech ventures.
The Fellowship supported 12 startups in Kenya in its inaugural year in 2023, with the goal of extending this support to a total of 36 EdTech companies over the next two years.
Now in its second year, the Fellowship is once again seeking brilliant innovators with groundbreaking EdTech solutions that can revolutionize how we learn, from early childhood to corporate education.
The solutions should address challenges across K-12, formal education, informal education, school management systems, tertiary education, corporate learning, and vocational skills training.
The startups must be Africa-focused and incorporated in Kenya.
The 2024 cohort of Fellows who go through the accelerator program will receive:
- Expert advisory on learning science, product development, marketing and sales, and talent management.
- Coaching and mentoring by successful founders and experts.
- Networking opportunities.
- Access to a pool of investors.
- Equity-free funding of $100,000.
