A few days into January 2024, OPPO announced the Find X7 Ultra flagship to partner with the standard Find X7. The high end version, Find X7 Ultra, became the first device to launch with a dual Periscope camera lens. It seems customers are intrigued and 4 weeks after launch, the flagship duo has reached 1 million pre-orders.
The announcement came from Billy Zhang, President of Overseas Marketing, Sales, and Services at OPPO, who said on Twitter that “there’s a real appetite” for the phone.
Apart from the dual-periscope camera, the Find X7 Ultra was also the first device to have a 1-inch Sony LYT-900 camera sensor. The photography tuning was done in partnership with Swedish company Hasselblad.
Other notable features of the X7 Ultra include the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 120 Hz 6.82” LTPO OLED at the front with QHD+ resolution. It has up to 4,500 nits peak brightness and supports ProXDR, which is Oppo’s take on the Ultra HDR image format.
At the moment, the phone is currently only available in China and that’s where all the pre-orders were placed.
When the phone was launched, OPPO was still blocked by Nokia from selling its devices in Europe but situation has changed after the two companies signed a cross-license 5G patent agreement. This development means OPPO is free to operate in international markets. Now only time will tell if they decide to release the Find X7 series outside China.
