Carrefour has introduced self-checkout services at its Village Market store following a successful pilot at the Westgate Shopping Mall store last March.

The implementation of self-checkout led to a notable 59% increase in customer satisfaction ratings and loyalty at the Village Market location.

Since the initial rollout of self-checkout services in March last year, Carrefour has observed a significant improvement in customer satisfaction scores, attributed to reduced waiting times at checkout counters.

This enhancement has resulted in a more efficient and enjoyable shopping experience for customers, fostering loyalty and positive feedback.

Regional Director for East Africa at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, Christophe Orcet highlighted the self-checkout service’s impact on customer experience, noting “Reduced waiting times and increased efficiency at checkout counters.”

With the expansion of the service to a second store, Carrefour says it aims to further enhance convenience for its customers.

Currently, Carrefour operates 22 stores across Kenya, including 17 in Nairobi, two in Kisumu, and three in Mombasa.
