LG Electronics has been honored with the 2024 Energy Star Partner of the Year-Sustained Excellence award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy, marking the 11th time since 2012 that LG has received this recognition. This prestigious award acknowledges LG’s ongoing commitment to combatting climate change and safeguarding the environment by demonstrating leadership in Energy Star certified products and initiatives.

Each year, the Energy Star program recognizes select businesses and organizations for their exceptional contributions to energy efficiency and the advancement of a clean energy economy. Award recipients, including LG, are at the forefront of their industries in producing, selling, and promoting energy-efficient products, homes, buildings, services, and strategies. Their collective efforts have resulted in substantial energy savings, totaling more than 5 trillion kilowatt-hours over the past three decades.

LG was commended by the EPA for its active involvement in various Energy Star campaigns and initiatives, which have played a pivotal role in educating millions of American consumers about eco-friendly living with LG and Energy Star, generating an impressive 8.3 billion consumer impressions. The 2024 Partner of the Year award recognizes several key accomplishments by LG in promoting Energy Star-certified products over the past year.

Chris Jung, president and CEO of LG Electronics North America, emphasized the alignment of Energy Star’s objectives with LG’s “Innovation for a Better Life” brand mission, which aims to enhance people’s lives while fostering a sustainable future. He highlighted LG’s strategic efforts in 2023 to advance the electrification movement in the United States through a wide range of Energy Star-certified products, including HVAC systems, water heaters, clothes dryers, induction cooktops, EV chargers, and energy storage and management systems.

Notably, LG became the first company to certify induction cooktops and ranges according to the new Energy Star cooking specification finalized in October 2023. Additionally, LG earned recognition as an Energy Star Partner for certifying dishwashers to the Energy Star Version 7 specification, with all new models receiving the “ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2023” designation.

EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan congratulated LG and other Energy Star award winners for their innovation and leadership in delivering cost-effective, energy-efficient solutions that create employment opportunities, address climate change, and contribute to a healthier environment for all.
