iHUB has unveiled a new state-of-the-art workspace marking a significant milestone in its 13-year journey of fostering innovation and growth within Africa’s tech ecosystem.
Located along James Gichuru Road at the Jahazi Building, in Lavington, Nairobi. The new workspace is a reflection of iHUB’s ongoing commitment to nurturing creativity, collaboration, and community across the continent.
Speaking on the occasion, Ojoma Ochai, Managing Director of CcHUB, shared, “Since the very beginning, iHUB has been a place where ideas come to life and communities are built. Through the years, we have seen innovators, technologists, creatives, and entrepreneurs thrive here. As we move forward, our goal at CcHUB Group remains the same: to be Africa’s leading support system for creative and technology entrepreneurs, helping them create solutions to enhance African prosperity, all while nurturing the community that started it all.”
The new office features an entertainment and media hub aimed at providing specialised advisory support for film, television, and social media professionals.
The facility also includes co-working spaces, private booths for calls, conference rooms, and dedicated venture capital offices for firms like TLcom and Verod-Kepple Africa Ventures.
With this relocation, iHUB takes the next step in its evolution, solidifying its position as an entrepreneur support organization, a premium coworking space, and an event and community space for the tech and creative community.
Founded in 2010, iHUB is part of CcHUB Group, which includes Co-Creation Hub in Nigeria, CcHUB Design Lab in Rwanda, eLimu in Kenya, Creative Economy Practice at CcHUB, Growth Capital by CcHUB, and CcHUB Syndicate. CcHUB Group is focused on stimulating innovation and technology applications to contribute to economic prosperity in Africa.
Since its founding, iHUB has been at the forefront of shaping the African technology landscape. By creating an environment of support, collaboration, and community, iHUB has played a signicant role in fostering the growth of startups, innovators, and tech entrepreneurs in Kenya and beyond.
Over the years, iHUB has co-designed several innovative programs with critical stakeholders that have laid the foundation for the thriving startup ecosystem that exists today.
The move signifies iHUB’s rebranding as part of CcHUB and showcases its mission to continue driving technological innovation and business growth, leveraging its expansive Pan-African network.
As iHUB continues to evolve, its core mission remains the same: to foster innovation, drive collaboration, and support entrepreneurs across various sectors.
Aidah Ng’ang’a, Head of Community and Ecosystems iHUB / CcHUB, reacts on the organization’s impact over the past 14 years: “We’ve collaborated with key ecosystem players to craft innovative programs that continue to support and build the startup ecosystem in Kenya and across Africa. With a vibrant community of over 10,000 entrepreneurs and 450+ startups across sectors like health, fintech, agritech, and ed-tech, iHUB has emerged as the cornerstone of innovation. Our entrepreneurs have grown into ambassadors, extending our influence and impact locally and globally.
Last year, iHUB and Safaricom partnered with M-PESA Africa and Sumitomo Corporation, a leading Fortune 500 global trading and business investment company, to launch the Spark Accelerator following an approval by Safaricom board and shareholders to restructure the Spark Fund.
This year in May iHUB entered another partnership with Mastercard Foundation to empower edtech startups to build tools that enhance learning outcomes and accelerate access to equitable and quality education for Africa’s next generation.
This next phase promises even more incredible strides as iHUB leverages its new space, extended resources, and pan-African connections to accelerate innovation across industries, from fintech to education, health, the creative economy, and beyond.
