Epson Names Junkichi Yoshida as New President & CEO

Epson has announced the appointment of  Junkichi Yoshida as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1st, succeeding Yasunori Ogawa, who will transition into the role of Chairman of the Board.

This leadership change marks a significant milestone as Epson prepares for the next phase of its strategic growth.

Junkichi Yoshida, a seasoned leader with extensive experience in business strategy, product development, and global market expansion, expressed his commitment to driving innovation and strengthening Epson’s core business pillars.

“I am honored to take on this responsibility and embrace the challenge ahead. Epson’s DNA is rooted in efficient, compact, and precise innovation, and our strength lies in our ability to leverage unique technologies such as our Micro Piezo printheads and advanced vertical manufacturing capabilities. Our goal is to further enhance customer trust in the Epson brand while expanding our business beyond existing boundaries,” said Yoshida.

As Epson enters the final year of its current strategic corporate vision, Epson 25 Renewed, Yoshida emphasized the importance of fostering an open, collaborative environment where employees can maximize their potential. “Sustainable business growth and technological excellence will continue to be at the core of everything we do. In today’s competitive landscape, we must go beyond conventional thinking, anticipate customer needs, and deliver solutions that redefine the industry,” he added.

Yasunori Ogawa, who has served as Epson’s President since 2020, reflected on his tenure and the decision to pass the leadership to the next generation. “When I took on this role in 2020, we faced unprecedented global challenges. Yet, through teamwork, adaptability, and a strong commitment to our vision, we navigated those difficulties and emerged stronger. As we approach a pivotal phase in our corporate strategy, I believe this is the right time to hand over the reins to a leader who will propel Epson to greater heights,” said Ogawa.

Ogawa praised Yoshida’s leadership qualities and vision for the company’s future. “Junkichi Yoshida has demonstrated an exceptional ability to drive innovation and execute business strategies on a global scale. His experience in expanding sales networks, launching new business areas, and leading the printing solutions division makes him well-equipped to guide Epson into its next chapter,” he added.

As Chairman, Ogawa will continue to play an active role in strengthening corporate governance, enhancing board effectiveness, and supporting Epson’s long-term strategic objectives.

Mukesh Bector, Epson’s Regional Head for East and West Africa, welcomed Yoshida’s appointment and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to innovation and regional growth.
