Yellow Card, the stablecoin payments infrastructure company, has acquired Brazilian virtual asset service provider GoMoney, establishing direct operations in Latin America as it expands its global cross-border payments and treasury infrastructure business.
The acquisition, completed in October 2026, makes GoMoney a wholly owned subsidiary of Yellow Card and gives the company access to Brazil’s local payments infrastructure, including Pix, the country’s instant payment system. The integration will enable Yellow Card clients to collect and disburse payments in Brazilian reais and settle transactions in stablecoins.
Founded in 2018 and headquartered in São Paulo, GoMoney provides payment services to international businesses seeking to collect payments from Brazilian customers and settle transactions in digital assets.
The company has applied to the Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) for authorization to operate as a virtual asset service provider under Law No. 14,478/2022 and BCB Resolution No. 519/2025. Its application remains subject to regulatory review and approval, although it continues operating under Brazil’s transitional framework for virtual asset service providers.
Yellow Card said the acquisition strengthens its ability to provide businesses with locally integrated payment infrastructure while connecting Brazilian operations to its existing treasury and liquidity network across other markets.
“Building global financial infrastructure requires compliance with local frameworks, local payment rails, and local expertise and relationships to operate effectively,” said Chris Maurice, co-founder and CEO of Yellow Card.
Brazil is becoming an increasingly important market for stablecoin-based financial services. According to Chainalysis, the country recorded $252.5 billion in cryptocurrency activity between July 2025 and June 2026, making it Latin America’s largest cryptocurrency market. Stablecoin activity in Brazil increased 495% across the report’s 2024–2026 comparison period, reflecting growing adoption for cross-border payments and business liquidity management.
GoMoney will retain its founders and existing leadership following the acquisition. Its chief executive, Maurício Pires, said the company had spent eight years building a virtual asset services business focused on using stablecoins for international payments.
The transaction follows a $40 million financing round announced by Yellow Card in August 2026, which included investments from Standard Chartered Bank and Sony. The company has also secured regulatory approvals and registrations in Canada, Switzerland, Nigeria, Ghana and Zimbabwe.
The Brazilian acquisition extends Yellow Card’s geographical reach beyond its established African markets as it pursues opportunities in other emerging economies. The company plans to deepen its presence in strategic markets, expand its product capabilities and develop partnerships supporting businesses moving money internationally.
Yellow Card supports more than 50 currencies and provides financial institutions, fintech companies and multinational businesses with infrastructure to access US dollars, manage treasury operations and move money across borders.
