Fiber Optic Connections Is currently Illegal Says Somali Government.

The government of Somali has termed the connection of internet fiber optic connections without passing the incomplete communication bill in parliament an illegal activity.

“We need to set rules and regulations concerning this issue, the parliament is busy drafting communication bill and once passed will set ground for communication in the country.

The state aims on taking addressing safety before connectivity considering the rising number of cyber attacks and hacking internationally. They also intend to protect the intelligence agencies in the country by having connectors follow the due process of law.

Ismail Dahir Osman the communications advisor of the states president said that despite witnessing the launch of fiber optic internet in the country via Halane, the current internet connections in the country are via satellite.
