1898877_522022851242120_4191082075713855617_oSet to launch in October, Egypt’s Cantalop.com wants to be the country’s top search engine to help end frustration among youth who seem unsuccessful at finding jobs.

Founded by Karim Al-Halwani, also the founder of Career Services, Cantalop uses keywords for a specific job title, company, skills and whatever field to help a job seeker land a job of his or her choice. After visiting the site, a user puts in their keywords of the job they are looking for then click the “Find jobs” button and then a results page that contains all of the job listings that match a users search terms appears.

The firm says it uses technology similar to google’s technology in searching and indexing jobs to give users an unforgettable job search experience. Egypt has a population of over 86 million people of which 29 million plus are internet users while 12 million plus are Facebook subscribers, according to the Internet World Stats.

“If you are getting too many jobs, simply use the filters on the left to narrow down your choices. If you see a job you are interested in, simply click on the link for the job title. A new window will open and will direct you to the employer’s site where the job listing is posted. There you will find the directions for applying within the listing,” Karim says on the site.

Users can also create email job alerts so that they get all new vacancies that meet their search criteria. The site also has an advanced search to run for more specific searches on the site. For employers to use the site, they have to  register as employers then the firm will call them to verify the company information and take them through detailed methods on job listing. The firm then indexes the employers jobs then lists them for search on the site.

“Cantalop is a job search engine,” Karim says. “It is the new development in the world of job search. We aim to revolutionize the way people search for jobs in Egypt. We use a technology similar to google’s technology in our searching, spidering and indexing jobs. You can think of Cantalop as “Google for jobs” in Egypt. We promise you the most unforgettable Job Search Experience.”
Karim will have to take on Bayt, a top job site in the Gulf and Middle East, connecting job seekers with employers, and others like Wuzzuf, MyCareer Egypt among others.

With his experience running Career Services, which has clients like Mobil, BAT, Vodafone, Microsoft and Yahoo among others. The site will probably be a success. Career Services is a recruitment consultancy helping firms find the right candidates. The addition of the digital platform is more of a support of what the firm has been doing since 2010.
