Founded last year by Monrovia-based Charles Dorme Cooper and Mlen-Too Wesley, Cookshop.biz is a online food search and ordering platform from the city’s best restaurants.
Available for both mobile phone and web, the site now serves over 10 popular restaurants and in over four locations in the city by allowing users browse and order for food by location, cuisine, restaurant, time of day, day of week, and availability.
According to their site, one can order food for delivery or pickup from its comprehensive food menus in Liberia. The site aims to become the online destination for food orders in Liberia and to meet the growing demand from its customers.
Just like other food ordering platforms, the site’s agents manager user’s orders until they are delivered from their specific restaurant. Then have it delivered to a buyer’s doorstep via its delivery team.
The platform works simply, you visit the site, browse the menu, select the food you want and then place your order. Cookshop.biz calls the restaurant owner and stays in touch between you and the restaurant. When the food is ready, Cookshop delivers it to your doorstep and you pay with cash. If you have to pcik the food, the firm alerts you whenthe food is ready to pick.
Both Liberian-born, the founders have previously done projects for both local and international organizations Bank of America, Blackboard Inc., ePals Inc., UNICEF, USAID, PSI Liberia, the Liberia Maritime Authority, the National Investment Commission of Liberia, and the National Port Authority of Liberia, iLab Liberia, Esoko, the International Trade Centre, and the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism of Liberia.
