Huawei has been on the rumor mill for a while with a device whose claim to fame was a total of 4 cameras. The name kept changing between Mate 10 Lite, Maimang 6 and the G10. However, the company has just announced it in China officially using the name Maimang 6, but there are reports that it will go by the name Mate 10 Lite in the international market.

The phone marks the first device in the Huawei portfolio to have a 18:9 aspect ratio display. The bezels aren’t so small but it is safe to say that it is a full screen device, it comes at 5.9 inches with a resolution of 2160*1080. Under the hood is the mid-range but capable  Kirin 659 octa-core CPU with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal space.

The main attraction is the 4 cameras; they come in the form of dual shooters at the front and back. The selfie combo comes at 13MP+2MP dual sensor, the 2MP is for taking depth information to create the trending background blur photos, otherwise called Portrait or bokeh effect pictures. The rear camera is also a dual sensor with 16MP+2MP, the setup has the same functions as the selfie one.

The phone runs on android 7 Nougat with the EMUI 5.1 interface on top. Battery life is catered for by a 3,340mAh juicer that I reckon will offer superb battery life considering the experience we had with the Huawei GR5 in its review period. The battery size is also commendable especially due to the 7.5mm thin profile of the device.

Users will have an option of Obsidian Black, Streamer Gold, and Aurora Blue colors, each unit will be selling at $365. Pre-orders start today and shipping will commence on September 30th.
