Twang is online bookstore that collects and sell books (both new and used) to Nigerians. The platform seeks to target the growing number of African readers, using Nigeria as a starting point.
It provides customers with the ability to select and buy books cut across a wide range of genres and topics.
For readers who have large collections of already read books lying in their houses, Twang also gives them an opportunity to make money. They begin by uploading pictures of the books vis the platform or through Whatsapp, then Twang bids collectively for all the books.
Once this is accepted by the seller, Twang pays for book purchase through a credit of the value to the sellers’ online wallet, or through coupons and through a bank transfer to their account.
The platform was founded in April 2017 by Edify Yakusak, and according to the founder, “We believe books are precious gifts that pass on knowledge from generation to generation. For us, everyday someone gets entertained or educated by book(s) bought through our platform, is a great day. We strive to provide our customers with an eclectic collection of books cut across various genres at surprisingly affordable prices”.
Twang also serve as an avenue to help authors and publishers looking  to promote and sell their books. From African literature, to biographies, business and finance, parenting, poetry, religion and motivational, Twang houses a wide categories of books, to cater for the needs of different readers.
