South Sudan is well on its way to getting own mobile money transfer service courtesy of a software engineering student Lual Michael Mayen who says thi will offer the country an effective and convenient way of cash transfer.
Gurtong reports that 22 year old Mayen said the Bank it Sytem will be similar to the models used by Kenya’s MPesa and M-Sente from MTN Uganda but have different features and codes.
“Bank it system, is very cheap and it is for everyone, educated and uneducated, because everyone is using a phone,” said Mayen.
“Mobile phones are so good because we always move with them and they are affordable to have thus can make a banking system,” he added.
The Makerere University student will test the mobile money transfer service today and tomorrow (Saturday) in Juba after which there will be a launch at later date in the year.
