Founded  in 2013 by  Thom Harvey Kigali-based Sokkaa, an online soccer community for African fans of the English Premier League but in African languages, has launched Sokkaa Talk and a Fan Gallery in a move to make their site more than just soccer site but East Africa’s largest online soccer community where fans can talk, share their photos and connect with each or ask just anything from their friends.

According to the firm, the new feature is an online community space for soccer fans across Africa.

“We look at the topics that are important to African soccer fans, and then create topics that create interesting, free debate. We launched the Sokkaa.com in December last year and it has grown at a pleasing rate. We have a Facebook page with over 120,000 fans and it has been fantastic to see how passionate our fans are – specifically in the conversations they have been having,” Harvey tells TechMoran. “We wanted to create a platform where Sokkaa fans can chat with each other and discuss the issues that were of interest to them – while we have some broad topics such as ‘EPL Fan Zone’ and ‘Africa Focus’, we like to keep the conversations open to what ever the fans want.”

Harvey says Sokkaa creates a specific community for soccer fans in Africa, looking at topics that interest them and presenting the information in a way that is appealing.
