After launching eight months ago in Cape Town, Uber has launched UberX, its low cost service in a move the firm says will being them closer to being Everyone’s Private Driver.
The service, now available in Cape Town and a user can use six free rides until Monday night. UberX is a low-cost Uber option that uses the same Uber app to connect users to their transport. The uberX cars were introduced on the road on June 12. After launching your Uber app, choose UberX instead of UberBLACK. Set your pickup location and tap the “Request uberX” button. UberBlack is the premium Benz service which aims to serve high-end customers and those who want to ride to a meeting or event in limo’s or Benz. DJ Band, Goldfish, scored the first uberX ride in Cape Town.
