Over 8 million of Tanzania’s 28 million subscribers are on Tigo’s network and the deal allows them online convenience and speed in the booking process as well as help the firm rake in some of the Tigo Pesa users who are able to do cross-border money transfer and payments.

This is not the first time o has signed a mobile payments deal to bring convenience to its users. In August 2014, Jovago inked a deal with Kenya’s M-PESA to ease its payments by customers. The same month the firm partnered with Nigeria’s SimplePay,, a web and mobile financial services company to enable Jovago customers pay for their hotel bookings via desktop or mobile phones.

Jovago and Tigo Pesa also have a deeper relationship than just this business partnership. Jovago is backed by Rocke internet, MTN and Millicom under the Africa Internet Holding group.
