Airtel Nigeria has launched Wynk, a premium music streaming and download app to give its subscribers unlimited access to millions of international and Nigerian songs on their mobile phones.Available for Android, iOS, Windows and Mac OS, Wynk allows users to stream or download various genres of music and as well create their own playlists. Premium users have the ability to sync their playlists to three devices.
According to Mr. Maurice Newa, Airtel Nigeria’s chief commercial officer: “Wynk underlines our commitment to provide exclusive and exceptional entertainment packages for customers, especially those who are music lovers.
Wynk.ng also gives users access to music from major music labels such as Sony Music, Universal and EMI.
Wynk is not the first music streaming and download app in the country. iRoking has been doing this for years and several other music streaming apps exist in Nigeria.
MTN Nigeria also announced plans to launch a music streaming service dubbed Music+ optimized for mobile and online access. Tigo Music has also been expanding across Africa with thousands of songs on its platform.
