Kenya’s First lady Margaret Kenyatta

It has been said that women are the pillar of families and communities. In Kenya, the untapped potential of women and girls is gaining greater attention, with policy makers seeking to remedy exclusion of women and promote their full involvement in diverse aspects of societal growth and development.

The discussion around women’s issues finds a platform on Twitter, where various women leaders and activists share their messages of empowerment with others.

In Kenya, a number of women are providing inspiration for others through their passionate pursuit of career excellence, family and community development, artistic expression and so much more.

This day is celebrated on the 8th of March every year and as more women become self-empowered, it seeks to support more of these women and encourage them in their pursuit of economic, political and social achievement.

As Women’s Day approaches, here are some noteworthy examples of women to follow and engage with on Twitter.
