S502-Leopard-3Design and appearance

Designed in the US, the phone resembles an iPhone from a a distance. The front face of the phone has the home, back and menu buttons at the bottom and a camera and earpiece at the top. On the back we have a metalic black casing with a camera and flash at the top, an Obi logo just below it and a speaker at the bottom. The Obi is mostly covered in Aluminium casing just like the iPhone. One friend of mine thouComing in white it’s so easy for user to think it’s really an iPhone.

Performance

Running on a 1.3GHz Quad-core processor with a 1GB RAM, the Obi Leopard works perfectly well on voice, SMS, Internet and Radio. Quad means four. With four core processors and latest Android KitKat 4.4.2, you can play some basic games, watch videos or listen to music via the pre-installed Hungama app. You can also share stuff and connect with their friends on social media and as well perform some basic office functions like responding to emails, downloading files, setting up their calendars and much more.

If you are going to call and SMS only, the phone’s battery life can go for 9 hours when fully charged. Listening to music and watching videos reduces the battery to last for a little over 5 hours while use of WiFi and heavy gaming, do photography, listen to radio, watch videos and run multiple apps, juice will run out in a some 2 hours.

The 5 inch sreen is good for reading, watch videos on YouTube  and its touch capability allows you to scroll from page to page while searching for anything online. The 5 inch screen is also good for photographers and Instagram lovers who share photos and even videos with their friends easily powered by the phone’s 4 core processor.

What we liked

The 8MP rear camera is excellent compared to phones the same price range.

The phone’s design is superb and it’s classy compared to other models in the same price range.

S502-Leopard-2What we disliked

At 8GB ROM, the phone’s storage is too little and users of heavy apps can’t download as many apps.

Though the phone runs on a Quad Core 1.3GHZ processor and  1 GB RAM most of the apps hang or crash midway use. Its commonplace to see notifications like Google Maps or Gmail has stopped working and user would be asked to restart or wait.

8GB in this generation is not enough for a smartphone. Obi should seal a deal with cloud service firms like DropBox among others so users can store their documens.

The USB was tightly designed and might not fit as fast.
