DropBuddies is an an online crowdsourced errand running and on-demand delivery platform which claims to revolutionize logistics by connecting customers with local couriers, who purchase deliver goods from any restaurant or store in a city, and also help with errand runs within a city.

Local couriers are notified of delivery requests within their locality by push notifications through an app specially built for DropBuddies. Within the app, they can view all delivery requests within their area and accept whichever they are interested in. When a delivery is accepted, the user is immediately introduced to their courier with a photo, details on how many deliveries they have made and their current rating inside the app. The courier then facilitates the purchase and delivery of whatever it is that the user needs.

DropBuddies also allows for custom requests. For example, in a case when you forgot something or would like something picked up for you from a local business not listed on the platform. With information as simple as the location and contact person, the platform leverages on its fleet of couriers to help you pickup and deliver just about anything all within a few clicks of a mobile app.

Anyone can also sign up on the platform to begin taking deliveries, and DropBuddies promises to enable them choose their own hours, and decide if and when they’ll be available for deliveries.

The platform was launched by Oluwatomi David Solanke in  July 2015, and it’s providing a real solution, especially for busy professionals who are struggling to combine their busy schedule with going out to shop.
