Infinix Hot 5 launches in Kenya today… and here’s what we know so far

Infinix Mobility is set to officially take the veil off the long-awaited Infinix Hot 5 smartphone today, August 28 in Kenya. The mobile company and her PR team have given the people of Kenya no space to breathe as they have choked with teasers, few cryptic details and enticing peeks as to what the Infinix Hot 5 will look like. Leaving us more eager and hungrier than we were for the device to come.

The soon-to-be launched Infinix Hot 5 is the successor to the Infinix Hot 4 smartphone which had a successful market spell. So far, so good, here are the things we know for sure about the Infinix Hot 5:

1. Enough on-board storage

A 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage combination is what the Infinix Hot 5 will offer users or potential buyers. The RAM will allow for heavy smartphone users toggle smoothly between applications without lag or loss of vital app data during usage.

The Hot 5 will definitely come with SD card support, but to what max level? We really do not know. Up to 32 GB? 64 GB? 128? Guess we’ll have to wait to find out.

2. There will be a smaller version – the Hot 5 Lite

Apparently, not just one but two (actually, three – the Note 4 Pro) smartphones will be launched together today by Infinix Mobility.

The Lite version of the Hot 5 is expected to have a little less RAM than the Hot 5 and will not feature a fingerprint scanner.

3. Big HD Screen

Since the Hot 5 is a cinema-themed smartphone, the device will come with a High Definition display sized at 5.5 inch to provide the best of entertainment experience to users.

4. Big and Durable battery

Just like its predecessor, the Infinix Hot 4, the Hot 5 will also come with 4,00mAh battery with Quick charge technology. Infinix also revealed that the Hot 5 and Hot 5 Lite were enhanced with low battery consumption design. Little charge time, More usage period.

5. Dual Loudspeaker

Just like what we saw on the Infinix Smart, the Infinix Hot 5 will also feature a dual frontal speaker set-up. The speakers are designed to produce top-notch sound quality, bass stabilization and the placement of the speakers (one up the screen and the other right below the screen) simply adds to the beauty of the device.

6. Fingerprint scanner

The Infinix Hot 5 will launch with a fingerprint scanner embedded on the rear of the device. The Infinix Hot 5 Lite however won’t be having the fingerprint scanner on the rear. Just a plain, roughly textured back cover.

The Infinix Hot 5 and Hot 5 Lite will be launched exclusively on Kilimall and hurry! You never know if there’s a gift for the early birds (just like there was for he recently launched Tecno Spark K7)

And that’s it! It’s a wrap. Is there anything else or any additional feature(s) you think Infinix would unveil about the Infinix Hot 5 or Hot 5 Lite today?
