Hotels.ng, Nigeria’s biggest online booking agency with over 9000 hotels around the country, has announced the launch of their mobile app.  The app has been created with the aim of easing the process of finding and booking hotels for users.

Mark Essien, the company’s CEO, tweeted that the Hotels.ng app was developed by members of its 2017 internship programme. In the tweet, he urged users to test the app by downloading it via Google Playstore and report any bugs. At the moment, the app is only available for Android users.

This new solution works by utilizing GPS technology -build into phones – to determine a user’s exact location and then offers the best hotels nearby as suggestions. In case a user wants to find a specific hotel, the app can allow them to directly look for it in the search function. You can also get a list of hotels in any location in Nigeria. In addition to being able to make bookings, the mobile app allows users to add hotels they like (or hope to visit) to a wishlist (which is similar to a list of favourites) and review information about their booking history.

The best part about the Hotels.ng app is that the user only needs to pull out their phone and the best hotels are automatically offered to them. Therefore, they no longer need to know the name of their current location or the names of nearby hotels to find a good accommodation. Currently, only hotels in Nigeria are available via the app, to access hotels outside the country, users can simply go to hotels.africa platform.
