Qualcomm has announced its latest innovations in its products ” Quick Charge 5″ the world’s Fastest Commercial Charging Solution.
Quick charge 5 delivers astonishing charging speeds of up to 0-50 per cent in five minutes while enabling new battery technology, accessories, and safety features. it also features a 100W+ charging power thanks to Qualcomm’s new Dual Charge technology.
Qualcomm says “the innovation packs Advanced Charging. Subsystem Safety including 8 levels of voltage protection, 3 levels of current protection. It also packs 3 levels of thermal protection and an additional 3 levels of timer protection. All while incorporating USB-input overvoltage protection at 25V and extreme power controls beyond 30V”
Some of the advantages of quick charge 5 include its versatility. Its technology is backwards compatible with previous generations of Quick Charge while addressing future Android requirements.
It also enables a single accessory to address a variety of charging implementations in mobile devices. Thus supporting 250+ mobile devices and 1000+ accessories.
Quick charge 5 is also efficient, Charge smartphones and devices up to 10 degrees C cooler, up to 4X faster, and up to 70% more efficiently than with previous solutions.
However, commenting on its capabilities, some consumers on Reddit dispute the functionalities of quick charge 5 and other quick charge solutions concluding that most of them have difficulties in imaging heat. Further, they have concluded one of the methods they use to get around this is higher voltages. Which produces less heat for the same amount of power delivery. They also modulate the power delivery over the charging period to maximize charging efficiency along with other features.
While the comments might be true to some extent. We are yet to experience similar adaptabilities in some of the smartphones flop. The quick charge option is convenient and timely for smartphone users.
