Recently, Huawei announced its latest Y9 series phone, the Huawei Y9a, an 8 GB RAM phone with 128 GB storage.

Powered by Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), the phone comes with a 64MP quad-camera setup, a 6.63-inch FullView Display, 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge, flagship-inspired design as well as a good amount of 8GB + 128GB storage.

Instead of the Google Play store, it has a HUAWEI AppGallery, Huawei’s answer to the Google Play Store with hundreds of great apps to play with.

Though there are three colour variants-Sakura Pink

Design & Display
The Huawei Y9a has a look and feel of Huawei’s Mate 30 Lite but with a pop-up camera and the phone looks impressive especially because of its classic halo design for rear cameras. It’s back is really beautiful, it has the Huawei logo at the bottom. At the top is the LED flash and its AI Quad Camera in a 3D arc design and nano-textured surface giving a user a comfortable grip, as we will show in our photo gallery.

The phone’s display is a 6.63″ HUAWEI Ultra FullView Display screen with a very minor bezel giving users more real estate for their media consumption on the phone screen. The designers gave users a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio with a super narrow frame and a hidden front camera. No notch at the top. The back, home and recent buttons are on the display screen at the bottom while the phone’s earpiece is hidden top edge next to the pop up camera and the earphone jack. The display is great for news, videos and playing mobile games with a much wider view.

The phone’s left edge is clean. It’s right side has the volume rocker and a sunken power button which also acts as fingerprint sensor. This is so cute, to be precise, unlike the traditional fingerprint sensor which is always on the back of many devices or on the display screen.

The bottom edge has the USB port in the middle with a memory and SIM card slot on the left and on the right end is the phone’s speaker.

Battery, OS and Performance

For performance, we will need to play with the HUAWEI Y9a to give you a full report on its cameras, its battery, and total performance. But the phone is designed for quick charging speed and long battery life and has a 40 W HUAWEI SuperCharge, which means you can charge up its 4200 mAh battery efficiently, restoring nearly 70% power in 30 minutes. The phone also comes with an AI power-saving technology which allows you to save its juice for a long time.

Camera

The Huawei Y9a comes with AI Quad Camera. Broken down that it has a 64 MP Main Camera, a 2 MP Macro Camera and an 8 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera. It comes with an anti-distortotion and a noise reduction algorithm for stability in photos and clear photos and videos. It’s EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) technology can compensate for camera shakes to help you record stable handheld videos. The front camera will instantly pop up for selfies and video chats, which brings fun and unique shooting experience for you.
